For the second time, a homelessness count is being held this week in the City and County.
The count is being called the #ICountPTBO and the goal is to identify as many people as possible who are homeless in the city and the county.
Lisa Smith, Director Philanthropic Impact for the United Way, says they spoke to 120 people two years ago and found there were a few reasons why people were homeless
She says the data also showed two years ago that those who become homeless are quite young, are primarily women, and there is a higher than average indigenous homeless population locally.
This week, volunteers will be talking to those marginally housed on the streets, at the shelters, and those utilizing local food centres.
