Home Support Worker

Responsibilities

View English and Inuktitut version

  • Play a key role in the delivery of the Home Support Services Program to clients within the Home and Community Care Program
  • Assist with the development of the client work plan
  • Work with the nurse to carry out the required services for each client, which may include activities such as personal care, home management, respite, and palliative care;
  • To work independently with minimal supervision;
  • Travel as required
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications

  • Home Support Worker Training or a willingness to learn Home Support Worker skills with the Home Care Nurse. Combined relevant education and experience will be considered.
  • Experience in working with elderly and/or disabled clients
  • Good oral and written communication skills
Assets
  • Bilingual in Inuktitut and English
  • Certificate in CPR and First Aid
