Health Services Preferential Access Inquiry: News Release

EDMONTON, ALBERTA – Aug. 21, 2013 – The Health Services Preferential Access Inquiry confirmed Wednesday the delivery of its report to the Hon. Gene Zwozdesky, Speaker of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta.

This marks the completion of the commission’s requirement to report its findings and recommendations to the Speaker, as set out under the Health Quality Council of Alberta Act – the legislation which established the commission of inquiry. The commission’s deadline for delivering its findings was August 31, 2013.

Under Section 22 of the Act, “the Speaker shall make copies of the report available to the public”, and to the Legislative Assembly within 15 days after the start of the next session.

The report will also be posted later today on the commission’s website at www.healthaccessinquiry.com, where it will remain accessible for the next few months.
