Gwich’in Tribal Council: Covid-19 Support

The Gwich’in Tribal Council (GTC) and Designated Gwich’in Organizations (DGOs) are working diligently to support the communities during this time. The GTC has provided each DGO with $70,000 to use to support their community.

These funds will be managed by the DGO and are intended to carry out community hunts, wood gathering, traditional medicine gathering, and other activities that fit the Community response plan to Covid-19 over the next several months.

However, this funding is not to be made available to pay personal debt, like credit cards or rent. It is a community resource and should be distributed as such.

Please contact your local DGO with further questions regarding programs occurring in your community.
