GNWT launches review of COVID-19 Response

Press Release

Residents of the Northwest Territories are invited to participate in a review of the Government of the Northwest Territories’ (GNWT) response to the COVID-19 pandemic by providing their feedback through an online survey launched today.

Leadership from Indigenous governments and community governments, Members of the Legislative Assembly, Members of the NWT Executive Council, and senior GNWT officials will also be invited to participate in the review and provide their perspectives on the GNWT response through a separate survey tool.

The survey for NWT residents can be found on the GNWT’s public engagement website at https://haveyoursay.nwt-tno.ca/learning-from-the-response-to-covid-19. The survey will be open on the public engagement site through August 15, 2022.

The review is expected to be complete by Fall 2022. A summary of key findings and recommendations will be released to the public once the review is complete.

Quote(s)

“Every single person in the Northwest Territories was affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. As a government, it’s important we look back and review how our response to the pandemic was managed to ensure we understand where we succeeded, and where we need to take action to make improvements.  By engaging with and listening to the experiences of the people of the Northwest Territories, we will be able to ensure we are better prepared for future public health emergencies.”

  • Caroline Cochrane, Premier of the Northwest Territories
