Press Release
YELLOWKNIFE October 7, 2021 – The Office of the Chief Public Health Officer (OCPHO) is announcing 51 new cases of COVID-19 in the NWT since October 6. The total number of recent cases, since mid-August, has increased to 1296. There are 456 active cases among residents in the NWT plus four (4) active out-of-territory cases. Of the remaining cases, 815 NWT residents and 15 out-of-territory cases have recovered, and there have been six deaths.

The OCPHO is attempting to provide exposure notifications wherever possible with the human resources available. Community spread occurring in Behchokǫ̀ and Yellowknife makes this a challenging task. Residents in these communities should keep in mind that any public place could result in exposure to COVID-19.
