Goals:

The goal of the 3 day event is to provide an opportunity to health professionals, insurance providers, health directors, First Nations leadership and First Nations to voice their concerns related to the NIHB Program. In applying the NIHB benefits there are a number of shortfalls and problems that arise. Not only are the Status First Nations faced with the challenges of NIHB, the health providers and health professionals are also finding difficulties with NIHB.

  • Medical Professionals working with First Nations
  • First Nations Insurance Providers

The day will be set aside
for Health Professionals
(doctors, pharmacists,
dentist, specialist) that
work with FNIH and
Insurance Providers to give
their perspectives of the
NIHB.
Health Directors,
Community experts, NIHB
Navigators, NIHB clerks,
and others will be given a
chance to discuss the
effects of the NIHB policy.
A Leadership Forum will
be held for First Nations
Leadership to discuss the
main issues on NIHB and
discuss a strategic plan.
This will be a closed
session.
