From Strategy to Action: Advancing Equity, Diversity & Inclusion in the Energy Sector with OPG

TORONTO, March 15, 2022  – Ontario Power Generation (OPG) will host a panel of distinguished guests with unique insight and knowledge of advancing cultures of equity, diversity and inclusion, and the public is welcome to attend virtually.

OPG’s Director of Ethics & Equity Michelle Folliott will host the moderated panel discussion with guests including:

  • Nikki Samuel, Director, Equity, Diversity & Inclusion, Human Resources & Equity, Durham College
  • Terri-Lynn Woods, Manager, Indigenous Engagement and Special Projects, Organization of Canadian Nuclear Industries
  • Sagal Abdi, Program Manager, BlackNorth Initiative
  • Channa S. Perera, Vice President, Regulatory and Indigenous Affairs, Electricity Canada

The event will conclude with a spoken word performance by Randell Adjei, Ontario’s first Poet Laureate.

OPG recently launched a 10-year Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (ED&I) Strategy that will serve as a roadmap to guide OPG’s journey towards ED&I excellence.

The Strategy will strengthen the organization’s culture, drive innovation and support strategic priorities like OPG’s Reconciliation Action Plan to advance reconciliation with Indigenous Peoples, and Climate Change Plan to achieve net zero emissions by 2040.
