Jerome’s journey from construction worker to medical device reprocessing technician highlights self-discovery, resilience and the pursuit of new, fulfilling paths.
Jerome is a proud young Indigenous man with deep family roots connecting to the Boothroyd Indian Band and Chawathil First Nation. His journey to his current role as a medical device reprocessing technician (MDRT) is one of self-discovery, courage and pride of honouring who he is and where he comes from.
With support from the Fraser Health Indigenous Recruitment and Retention team and the Stó:lō Aboriginal Skills and Employment Training (SASET) program, Jerome created a path in health care that transformed his life.
