The Department of Health is advising Hall Beach residents that a fox has tested positive for rabies. The fox was caught in the community on Tuesday, May 28, 2017.
Dogs and foxes can transmit rabies to people. If you have been bitten or scratched, or had any contact with a fox, please go to the health centre and report the incident immediately. Treatment must be started quickly.
If you see a fox or wolf wandering around the community, or if your dog has had contact with a fox or wolf, call the conservation officer immediately at 867-928-8507 or 867-928-8085, or the Regional Environmental Health Officer at 867-975-5772.
