Winnipeg, MB – Power line construction group, Forbes Bros. Ltd, and the Manitoba Metis Federation’s (MMF) construction affiliate, Metis N4 Construction, presented matching sponsorship cheques in the amount of $15,000 to the Manitoba Metis Heritage Fund (MMHF) at the MMF Home Office on April 5, 2017. The $30,000 sponsorship will help support the MMHF’s efforts to raise funds for the Translating Emergency Knowledge for Kids (TREKK) program at the upcoming gala fundraiser, ‘A Night to Remember’, hosted in partnership with the Children’s Hospital and the Children’s Hospital Foundation. The TREKK program aims to help improve gaps in emergency care knowledge for children admitted to emergency rooms in Manitoba.
“Ensuring our children have access to high quality medical care is paramount to their future and their success,” said Denise Thomas, MMF Minister for Tripartite Self-Government Negotiations and Chairperson of the MMHF. “This important investment means we can help put supports in place to ensure that when our children are in need, hospitals will have better access to knowledge, resources, and training to deliver improved and consistent pediatric emergency care.”
The sponsorship also aligns with the MMHF’s mission, as the MMF’s registered non-profit charitable entity, in supporting economically disadvantaged individuals and families of Manitoba’s Métis Community.
