Following the announcement of a funding opportunity, several communities expressed their interest in implementing a local project aimed at preventing cancer and are currently working on developing their projects. The funds were made available to communities in January 2020 and some projects kicked off!
This fall, the regional meeting on cancer control was held on the theme of prevention and screening. Approximately 40 participants, mostly nurses, were in attendance. Workshops enabled those present to exchange views on the challenges they encounter, but above all, to share possible solutions and best practices in the communities. The second day was dedicated to training on cancer prevention and screening.
This meeting was also an opportunity to kick off community cancer control projects. Indeed, following the announcement of a funding opportunity, several communities expressed their interest in implementing a local project aimed at preventing cancer and are currently working on developing their projects. Toolbox Cancer Control
Finally, the FNQLHSSC took advantage of this opportunity to present the Toolbox Cancer Control , available on the FNQLHSSC website at cssspnql.com/en/areas-of-intervention/health/toolbox-cancer-control.
