FNHMA Announces Newest Resource Now Available –

Health Services Accreditation Toolbox

The First Nations Health Managers Association (FNHMA) is proud to announce that The First Nations Health Managers – Health Services Accreditation Toolbox has been released and is now available for purchase. This publication provides essential tools that are effective and efficient in helping First Nations Health Managers understand what health services accreditation is, what the benefits are, and provides an insightful overview of the process of receiving and maintaining accreditation for an organization. As accreditation can be a rigorous process, the outcome can be tremendously rewarding for an organization.  This Health Services Accreditation Toolbox offers First Nations Health Managers concrete tools that can help organizations navigate the exciting journey of accreditation. The Toolbox is structured around the three phases we believe all organizations go through when thinking about becoming accredited; considering accreditation, preparing for accreditation, and lastly the beginning and maintaining accreditation. The outline for this Toolbox was developed with help from health directors, accreditation coordinators, and accrediting bodies by listening to the challenges they have faced while preparing for accreditation. Over the past years, the First Nations Health Managers Association has developed several popular Toolboxes that provide concrete tools to help with both strategic and day-to-day elements of running a First Nations health organization, these include: First Nation Health Managers – Health Services Integration; First Nations Health Managers – Human Resources, Programs and Support Services; First Nations Health Managers – Governance, Strategy, Policy and Decision Making; and textbook Management of First Nations Health Services – Developing, Delivering, and Evaluating. This Accreditation Toolbox will offer concrete tools that will help organizations navigate this exciting accreditation journey.

The publication is available for purchase through the FNHMA website: www.fnhma.ca for $69.95 plus applicable taxes and shipping. To request to have a Toolbox Order Form sent directly to your email, please email us at communications@fnhma.ca.
