First Nations Health Managers Association Announces the 2014 Certified First Nations
Health Managers Graduation Ceremony

Vancouver, BC (September 24, 2014) – The 2014 Certified First Nations Health Manager (CFNHM) graduation ceremonies will take place today at 5:30 PM the Sheraton Wall Centre, address. This year the First Nations Health Managers Association (FNHMA) honors our 32 graduates and FNHMA President’s Award recipient during a formal dinner and reception.

The evening will begin with the 2014 President’s Award.   The recipient of this award is Sophie Picard, CFNHM, First Nations of Quebec and Labrador Health and Social Services Commission, Quebec.   This year’s convocation includes an address from the valedictorian, Marcia Mirasty, CFNHM, Flying Dust First Nation, Saskatchewan.

FNHMA President, David McLaren is proud of the individual achievements shown by FNHMA members from across Canada.  Our CFNHM’s are highly skilled professionals in First Nations health management.  “Recipients of the FNHMA CFNHM designation deserve to be recognized as individuals who health leaders in our communities.  They have the tools and motivation to succeed in contributing to the health capacity and building of our nations – I am extremely proud of you all”.  –David McLaren, CFNHM, FNHMA President

The FNHMA recognizes that First Nations Health Managers are leaders who honour, maintain and uphold inherent ways of knowing while balancing management principles to bring excellence to their communities and health programs.
