First Nations and Inuit Home and Community Care Funding

Indigenous Services Canada (ISC) offers a First Nations and Inuit Home and Community Care (FNIHCC) program to provide funding and advice on developing home and community care services to Indigenous people living in First Nations and Inuit communities.
The program focuses on services such as:
- client-need assessment, case management and care coordination
- in-home respite care or temporary care for individuals who cannot be left alone
- nursing
- care planning
- medication monitoring
- symptom management
- personal care
- bathing
- grooming
- dressing
The program also funds operation of services, such as:
- record-keeping
- personnel supervision
- training
Eligibility Criteria:
- First Nation or Inuit
- Has disabilities, chronic or acute illnesses; and/or is an elder
- Live in a First Nations reserve, a First Nations community North of 60, or an Inuit community
- Have undergone a formal assessment of continuing care service needs and have been assessed as requiring one or more services
