Once again this season, the Aboriginal Peoples Alliance Northern Ontario (APANO) are hosting lunchtime meals at the Scout Hall.
Since 2012, APANO has held a free bi-weekly community kitchen social for shut ins and those on assistance so that they had the opportunity to enjoy a hot meal and some socializing instead of being shut in during winter. Over the years, the public has also been invited to enjoy the meals for a donation. These donations go toward programs that APANO provides.
The meals are prepared by a group of dedicated volunteers, some of who have been helping at the event since the beginning. Recepients enjoy a hardy entree, coffee/tea and dessert.
