This year marked the historic transfer of all federal health programs and services for First Nations in British Columbia to the newly created First Nations Health Authority. A first in Canada , this ground-breaking partnership between the provincial government, B.C. First Nations and the federal government has changed the way First Nations health is designed and delivered in B.C.
The First Nations Health Authority will work with the provincial system to improve services for First Nations and ensure culturally appropriate care is available.
