Buckingham Palace says Queen Elizabeth II is under medical supervision
Sep 08, 2022
Buckingham Palace says Queen Elizabeth II is under medical supervision as doctors are “concerned for Her Majesty’s health.”
She was “comfortable” and remained at Balmoral Castle in Scotland, where she has spent the summer, the palace said.
A palace spokesperson declined to provide further details about the Queen’s condition.
Prince Charles, the heir to the throne, along with his wife, Camilla, and sister, Princess Anne, are already with the Queen at Balmoral Castle. Television footage showed the Queen’s grandson, Prince William, and her sons Princes Andrew and Edward arriving by plane at Aberdeen Airport, about an hour from the castle, on Thursday afternoon (local time).
The Queen’s other grandson, Prince Harry and his wife Meghan, were also en route.
Such a family gathering, outside of holiday events such as Christmas or Easter or major public events, is extremely rare.
