Evacuation Order Kátł’odeeche – Residents Must Evacuate

An Evacuation Order has been issued notifying residents that due to a wildfire near the community, all residents of Kátł’odeeche must evacuate immediately.

All residents are asked to please avoid the area until further notice.

All evacuees must register: Kátł’odeeche residents are instructed to register in person at the Town of Hay River Recreation Center or the Kátł’odeeche muster point at the ECC/ENR Building at the highway.

Accommodations: Evacuees are encouraged to stay with family and friends. For those who do not have anywhere to stay an evacuation centre has been established at the Town of Hay River Recreation Centre.

Transportation Assistance: Emergency bus and transportation vehicles will be at the Chief Lamalice Complex. If you need assistance with evacuation, contact the KFN CEO Alex Gresl at (867) 686-8898.

Detailed information regarding accommodations, transportation assistance and how evacuees should proceed will be communicated when registering.

South Slave Regional Emergency Management Organization is maintaining contact with Kátł’odeeche First Nation and the Town of Hay River and is prepared to support should assistance be required.
