A prominent Indigenous leader from Amherstview, Dr. Jamaica Cass, is one of 30 people to be named to the Order of Ontario
this year.

A nationally-recognized leader in Indigenous health and medical education, Dr. Jamaica Cass is the first Indigenous woman in Canada to earn both a Doctor of Medicine and a Doctor of Philosophy.

She drives systemic change through governance, curriculum reform and national best-practice guidelines.
