Disruption to 9-1-1 Service

The GNWT and RCMP are alerting the public that there will be a disruption to 9-1-1 Service for 15 minutes between 0100 and 0500 on Thursday February 29, 2024. People attempting to call emergency services may not be able to get through calling 9-1-1 for that 15 min period.

During this time, if you are not able to get through to 9-1-1 and require urgent assistance, you should dial the telephone prefix for their community, followed by 1-1-1-1. For example, Inuvik RCMP would be (867)777-1111 etc. If you can’t reach local emergency services, please go directly to the RCMP detachment or Health Center.
