Dilico Anishinabek Family Care: Long Term Care News

Through the voices of our people within the Robinson Superior Treaty area and guidance from our Elder’s Advisory Committee, Dilico embarked on developing an Indigenous Long Term Care facility. For over five years, Dilico has worked to keep this project moving and complete necessary planning and preparation required.

We are happy to share that we are in a formal process with the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care and have created a partnership agreement with Fort William First Nation. The process is moving forward and here are some of our more recent developments:

  1. Secured an architect firm – FORM Architecture Engineering.
  2. Engagement sessions with community and Elders have occurred and will continue to take place.
  3. Fort William First Nation is leading the land designation process and have identified 3 potential sites.
  4. Developed a draft partnership agreement between Dilico and FWFN, known as Oshki-Aki Limited Partnership.
  5. Currently researching potential on site services that may include a Pharmacy, Daycare and Training site for Health training agreements and partnerships.

If you have any feedback or questions please contact Dilico Health Services at 1-855-623-8511.
