It’s an exciting time for the Dignity for All Campaign as we begin our cross-Canada tour of workshops to promote Dignity for All: A National Anti-Poverty Plan for Canada!
Janelle Vandergrift of Citizens for Public Justice and Michèle Biss of Canada Without Poverty are kicking off the tour with a trip to East Coast this week. Our first stop is Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island followed by Halifax, Nova Scotia.
Poverty is a violation of human rights and yet it is present in every community across Canada.
By taking the plan from coast-to-coast-to-coast, we will be working with communities to develop tools to tell policy makers in their communities that #WeNeedAPlan and #WeHaveAPlan.
The workshops are designed to enable participants to reflect on poverty in their communities, learn more about poverty in Canada and Dignity for All’s model anti-poverty plan, and build skills and strategies for action on local and national levels.
If you aren’t going to be out East this week and still want to be part of the Dignity for All cross-Canada tour, don’t fret! There are plenty more chances as the tour continues through the spring, summer and autumn.
Southern Ontario is the next stop in late May — including Toronto, Hamilton, Port Colborne, Windsor, Sarnia and London. We hope to see you there!
