First Nation remains in Phase 2 of its reopening plan
The checkpoint in Curve Lake First Nation is down, but the state of emergency for the community remains in effect. The checkpoint was removed on Friday (July 24) and had been in place since April.
Under the emergency order, only members, residents, and their immediate families are permitted to use outdoor spaces.
The First Nation remains in Phase 2 of its reopening plan, and notes the safest place to be is at home in order to prevent spreading and contacting COVID-19.
All First Nation-owned buildings in Curve Lake remain closed and the First Nation has extended their shutdown until Aug. 21.
Mandatory face coverings will be required as of Aug. 1 in all businesses located on the territory, in line with the City of Peterborough and Peterborough County.
