COVID-19 Vaccine Booster at NFN

Press Release

In response to evolving data around the transmissibility of the Delta variant, the Ontario government, in consultation with the Chief Medical Officer of Health, is expanding eligibility for third doses of the COVID-19 vaccine to additional groups that face the highest risk of serious illness from the virus. This decision aligns with evidence and recommendations provided by the National Advisory Committee on Immunization (NACI).

November 5, 2021 – NFN Health Services is offering COVID-19 boosters (3rd doses) for adults aged 18 years and over. Clinics will be scheduled by appointment only.

To be eligible the following must apply:

  1. You are a NFN member, a member of a NFN household, you live in NFN, or are a NFN employee.
  2. You are at least 18 years of age.
  3. You have had two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine and this information is entered into COVax, the Ontario COVID-19 reporting system.
  4. It has been at least 168 days (approximately 6 months) since your 2nd dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.

To book an appointment for a COVID-19 booster here at NFN, please call:

Lisa Beaucage, Clinical Client Records Assistant, at (705) 753-3312 ext. 2259

Please leave only one message with your full name and a number to reach you to book an appointment.

A vaccine certificate that says you’ve had two doses (even if you’ve had three) will continue to be accepted by businesses and services that require proof of vaccination.

If you have an enhanced vaccine certificate (a QR code displayed on your cell phone or tablet), it will be automatically updated to show you’ve had a third dose once this information is entered into the COVax system.
