The Department of Health is reminding Nunavummiut that the COVID-19 vaccine continues to be available. Vaccination is effective at reducing the risk of a severe COVID-19 infection. COVID-19 vaccines are available to all Nunavummiut aged 6 months and older.
COVID-19, and other respiratory illnesses like influenza and Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) continue to circulate in Nunavut. Staying up to date with your vaccines is one of the best ways to keep you and your family healthy.
Evidence has shown that vaccine effectiveness against COVID-19 infection fades over time. Booster doses of COVID-19 vaccines can enhance or restore protection that might have decreased since your last dose.
For those aged 5 years or older, boost your protection if:
For children aged 6 months to 5 years, who have completed a primary series of COVID-19 vaccines, please ask your vaccine provider to see if your child needs to get any additional doses.

The COVID-19 vaccines and other respiratory illness vaccines, like influenza, and RSV, are available at all community health centres and public health units in Nunavut. Iqaluit Public Health continues to offer walk-in flu and COVID-19 vaccinations every Friday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
