Mar 21, 2023

A COVID-19 outbreak has been declared at an inpatient unit at Cambridge Memorial Hospital.

Two patients from the Medicine B inpatient unit located in Wing C, on the fourth floor of the hospital, have tested positive.

An outbreak was declared in consultation with the Region of Waterloo Public Health because the two cases are thought to be linked.

If no new cases arise, the outbreak will be declared over on March 27.

This comes after St Mary’s General Hospital in Kitchener declared a COVID-19 outbreak on Saturday.

Six patients tested positive in the medicine unit, located on the fourth floor of the hospital building.

The outbreak at St. Mary’s General Hospital is anticipated to be over by March 28.
