Education minister to speak at 1 p.m, health minister’s news conference set for 3 p.m.
Aug 24, 2021
The Quebec government will provide an update today on two big issues: the province’s back-to-school plan for elementary and high school students and the vaccination passport system.
Education Minister Jean-François Roberge will speak at 1 p.m. and Health Minister Christian Dubé will speak at 3 p.m.
Roberge’s news conference is expected to centre around mask requirements inside and outside the classroom, as well as the uses of rapid testing and requirements for extracurricular activities, according to reports from Radio-Canada.
Earlier this month, Roberge said students would return to school this fall without needing to wear masks while seated and without having to remain in classroom bubbles.
Dubé’s news conference will focus on the specifics of the vaccine passport system. The system is set to take effect on Sept. 1, eight days from now.
