Press Release
28 January 2022
On Saturday, January 29, 2022, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Iqaluit Health Services will be offering the COVID-19 booster vaccine at the Qikiqtani General Hospital Clinics. This is a walk-in clinic for adults who received their second dose at least 4.5 months ago (on or before September 18, 2021) as well as children aged 12-17 who received their second dose at least six months ago (on or before July 29, 2021).
Please bring your health care card and proof of vaccination certificate or wallet vaccine card indicating you received your second dose. Taxi vouchers will be available, if required.
Physical distancing, hand hygiene and enhanced cleaning practices will be in place to help keep everyone healthy. Masks are mandatory.
Two doses and a booster shot of a Health Canada approved COVID-19 vaccine provide better protection against COVID-19 and new variants, such as Omicron. The COVID-19 vaccine is the best protection against this virus, and all Nunavummiut are encouraged to be vaccinated as soon as they are eligible. COVID-19 vaccination is also available by appointment during regular business hours at Iqaluit Public Health.
