A provincial grant to help improve seniors’ health and well-being and make communities more age-friendly is now accepting applications.
Non-profit community organizations can apply for grants of up to $10,000 that advance the goals and actions outlined in Nova Scotia’s Strategy for Positive Aging, with a focus on health, well-being and community participation. $260,000 is available this round, and funding covers up to 100 per cent of project costs to a maximum of $10,000.
Past projects supported seniors through physical activity and healthy living, creativity and the arts, life-long learning, and volunteerism.
Since the launch in 2008, over $2.2 million has been awarded to 283 organizations for Positive Aging Grant projects across the province.
More information on the grants and application forms are available at www.novascotia.ca/seniors or by calling toll-free 1-800-670-0065 or, in metro, 902-424-0065. Applications will be accepted until Oct. 23.
