Press Release
As temperatures drop, the Southern Chiefs’ Organization is sharing a list of organizations and resources in Winnipeg that are helping our unsheltered relatives stay safe, warm, and fed this winter.
The Homelessness Emergency Response Committee, along with frontline partners, has released the 2025–2026 Winter Response Plan.
The plan includes a full list of overnight shelters and safe spaces, with information on emergency shelters, mobile outreach, drop-ins, warming centres, youth hubs, and women and gender-diverse safe spaces.
It also outlines citywide outreach teams, day drop-ins with food and washrooms, youth services, overnight warming spaces, and shelters that extend their hours and capacity during the winter months.
You can also find more winter supports—including shelters, health care, food, and other essentials—on the End Homelessness Winnipeg website at: https://endhomelessnesswinnipeg.ca/services-supports/
If you need help, call 211 to ask for information on resources that can provide support.
Stay warm and take care as we approach the first official day of winter!
