City of Iqaluit Responds to Social Media Posts about Drinking Water

The City of Iqaluit is responding to concerns on social media that were posted this past weekend about an odor in the drinking water. The City tests and monitors drinking water daily. All test results are satisfactory.

The City takes these concern seriously and has been in contact with Public Health throughout the weekend. Drinking water is disinfected using chlorine (and ultraviolet light) as such, slight chlorine odours may be present in the water.

The City is conducting additional testing to further address any concerns and continues to monitor its drinking water and water infrastructure.

The public is asked to call Dispatch at 979-5650 to report any concerns regarding drinking water.
