Those living in London’s Carling Heights neighbourhood will soon be able to use their community centre for its intended purpose for the first time in two years.
The London Health Sciences Centre (LHSC) says the Carling Heights COVID-19 clinical assessment centre will move to Victoria Hospital on Monday. The assessment centre was established during the early days of the pandemic, and has provided services to more than 228,000 people over the last 886 days.
“The Carling Heights Centre allowed us to successfully manage high volumes of testing throughout the pandemic,” said Kim Planques, director of the assessment centre. “I know occupying this space was not a small ask, but it played such an important role in keeping this community safe.”
