Cape Breton branch Canadian Mental Health Association closing – Cape Breton Post

SYDNEY, N.S. —

The Canadian Mental Health Association Cape Breton branch will cease to exist as of May 28 but the Cape Breton Post has learned the group plans to continuing operating under a different name.

Overseen by a board of directors, the organization is part of the CMHA Nova Scotia division which is under CMHA National. The organization provides training and resources to communities, groups and individuals to help improve mental health and to support mental illness recovery.

Kevin McNamara is on the board of directors for CMHA Nova Scotia and said the organization can’t use the CMHA name anymore because of the programs they offer.
