The Department of Family Services is now accepting funding proposals for 2016-17, for small-scale projects, programs or outreach services that will help in the prevention, reduction and reoccurrence of homelessness in Nunavut.

Non-profit organizations, societies and municipal organizations that provide or intend to provide homelessness supportive services or programs can apply for funding for projects that could include:

  • Workshops that build awareness and understanding of the factors that lead to homelessness.
  • Workshops that build life skills.
  • Initiatives that link individuals experiencing homelessness with opportunities for training, career development or building traditional skills.
  • Initiatives that help individuals experiencing homelessness to access support services or employment opportunities.

Applicants must complete the Homelessness Initiatives Application form and should refer to the Homelessness Initiatives Guidelines when completing the application.
