Call for proposals for tobacco and cannabis reduction program grants

Press Release

November 21, 2025

Smoking and vaping are linked to heart disease; including high blood pressure, increased heart rate, blocked arteries, heart attack and stroke.

Hamlets, local and regional organizations in Nunavut are invited to submit one-time funding proposals for community-led projects to reduce the harms of tobacco, vape and cannabis use in the territory, and promote heart-healthy activities. Heart-healthy activities include physical activity, healthy eating, healthy drink selection and stress reduction activities, like sewing and on-the-land activities.

For more details, please contact tobacco@gov.nu.ca. The deadline to submit is Friday, December 19, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. EDT.
