Call for Proposals – Food Security Initiatives

The Nunavut Food Security Coalition is now accepting funding proposals for projects that will address food insecurity in Nunavut in 2025-26.

Two streams of funding are open for application:

Non-profit organizations, societies, businesses and municipal organizations can apply for funding for:

  1. Food security projects that:
  • Develop supports targeted to those facing food insecurity.
  • Aim to increase the ability of Nunavummiut to improve their own food security through life and food skills development.
  • Encourage parents and children to learn and build food and life skills together.
  • Reduce barriers to food access and help reduce poverty.

And/or

  1. Core Funding to:
  • Reduce barriers to food access and help reduce poverty.
  • Contribute to the core operations of a food organization so it is better placed to provide access to services and programming most days of the year and to build food programming beyond emergency food relief.

Application review begins on March 1st, 2025. Please begin the application process ahead of this date to ensure your proposal receives the full consideration.

The Nunavut Food Security Coalition is a collaborative group of Government departments, Inuit organizations, non-governmental organizations and the private sector working together to improve food security in Nunavut.
