Call for Nominations – Mental Health Review Board

Nunavut Tunngavik Inc. (NTI) is seeking individuals to put forward as Community Member nominees for the newly established Mental Health Review Board.

Successful candidates will be provided training prior to the commencement date of the new Mental Health Act (anticipated in 2025). Appointed Community Members will receive an honorarium for their training and services.

The Mental Health Review Board can accept applications and hear matters from patients who are being held involuntarily under the Mental Health Act and those acting on their behalf can appeal decisions to the Board.

To be considered, candidates must be actively and personally committed to represent the interests of Inuit in Nunavut.

NTI wishes to ensure the fullest Inuit participation in the implementation of the new Mental Health Act.

The deadline for applications is January 17, 2024
