Call for Members – Nunavut Medical Registration Committee

The Department of Health is seeking three individuals to serve on the Nunavut Medical Registration Committee for a term of two years.

This committee is mandated by the Medical Profession Act to review and decide on applications for the licensing and registration of medical professionals in Nunavut.

The Department of Health is seeking:

• One public member who is a Nunavut resident, but not qualified to practice medicine in Nunavut and who is not an employee of the Government of Nunavut (GN);
• One medical professional residing in Nunavut who is qualified to practice medicine in Nunavut, a province, or another territory; and
• One Government of Nunavut (GN) employee.

Applicants should have a strong interest in the regulatory process and should be prepared to devote 1 to 1.5 hours every second week to review applications through a teleconference meeting. Experience in a health-related field would be an asset.

An honorarium is paid as per Directive 810, GN Financial Administration Manual.
