Call for Expressions of Interest to administer Elder van transportation

Press Release

May 6, 2024

Aging with Dignity is a Katujjiluta mandate priority for the Government of Nunavut (GN), which places a great emphasis on elder care in the territory. The GN is committed to ensuring more Nunavut elders can access community and government services and is seeking partners to provide specialized van transportation for elders.

The Department of Executive and Intergovernmental Affairs (EIA) is calling for expressions of interest from territorial, regional or community organizations that have the capacity and ability to administer the Elder van initiative in up to five communities.

EIA has allocated funds for the purchase and shipment of wheelchair-accessible vans that can be in service in five communities by the end of 2024. The funding does not include the provision of transportation services.

Interested entities will be invited to participate in an information session to discuss the initiative, with date and location to be determined.

Interested parties must submit their written expressions of interest to @email by 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time on May 10, 2024.
