Calgary’s 19th Annual Wellness Walk

National Addictions Awareness Week (NAAW) 2015

Hundreds to mark “National Addictions Awareness Week” at 19th Annual Calgary Wellness Walk, Monday November 16, 2015. Hundreds of Calgarians will join an estimated 600,000 Canadians on Monday, November 16, 2015, to mark National Addictions Awareness Week, walking the downtown streets to promote positive action toward the prevention of substance and gambling dependencies. The Wellness Walk Committee, comprised of 21 community agencies and organizations, expects over 200 men, women and children to gather at Millennium Park, as they prepare to march the streets of downtown Calgary to raise awareness, share hope and promote the importance of striving to maintain community consciousness for healthy living and an addiction free lifestyle. The Walk will finish at the Kerby Centre and be followed by lunch, speakers and entertainment.

Schedule of Events:
Opening Ceremonies at 10:45 AM – Millennium Park
Opening Blessing and Honour Song, reading of Proclamation
Walk commences at 11:00 AM from Millennium Park
Lunch and entertainment at 12:00 PM – The Kerby Centre
Free hot lunch, live music, guest speaker, Drum Group Round Dance
