Currently available only to Nunavummiut 70 years and older and those living or working in long-term care facilities
Older Nunavummiut and people living or working in long-term care facilities can now receive a booster dose of the new bivalent COVID-19 vaccine.
The Government of Nunavut announced Monday it has received the vaccine, but in limited supply. Eligibility will be expanded as supply increases.
For now, access to the vaccine is open to Nunavut residents aged 70 and older as well as staff and residents of long-term care facilities who received their primary COVID-19 vaccine doses at least three months ago, states the release from the GN.
Moderna’s Spikevax bivalent vaccine protects people against both the original strain of the COVID-19 virus as well as its Omicron variant.
