VICTORIA – The wildfire situation is continually evolving, and the information below is current as of 7 p.m. (Pacific time) on Sunday, Aug. 8, 2021.

  • Wildfires burning in B.C.: 273
  • Since April 1, 2021:
    • 1,445 wildfires
    • 644,420 hectares burned
  • Active fires by fire centre:
    • Cariboo: 35
    • Coastal: 24
    • Kamloops: 86
    • Northwest: 7
    • Prince George: 60
    • Southeast: 61

Crews and equipment:

  • Firefighters and other personnel fighting the fires: 3,583
  • Out-of-province firefighters: 382
  • Helicopters and planes supporting ground crews: 214

Evacuations:

  • Properties:
