The number of Indigenous babies born from addicted mothers is on the rise.

Pediatric specialists say the number of babies born with drug dependency has more than doubled at one Winnipeg hospital in the past four years.

With an average of 400 (mostly Indigenous) newborns apprehended every year, child welfare experts say this is part of a massive systemic problem.
