o Post-Secondary Health Science Education System Transformation ProjectBody:

o March 26, 2008 AHHRI Request for Proposals were sent out
o April 22, 2008 AHHRI Request for Proposals submission deadline
o Chiefs of Ontario received AHHRI proposal submissions
o Proposal Review Committee (PRC) has been established consisting of delegates from:
-Assembly of First Nations
-Association of Iroquois and Allied Indians
-Chiefs of Ontario
-First Nations and Inuit Health Branch – Ontario Region
-Grand Council Treaty No. 3
-Independent First Nations
-Nishnawbe Aski Nation
-Union of Ontario Indians

o PRC Packages were sent out May 16, 2008 to delegates for review
o PRC will be meeting June 5-6, 2008 to review proposals as a committee
o PRC recommended successful applicants will be forwarded to Health Coordination Unit (HCU) for approval
o HCU approved proposals will be forwarded to First Nations and Inuit Health Branch
o Approved proposals will be included in the Ontario Regional AHHRI Work Plan that will be developed and submitted to Health Canada-National Office
o Health Canada-National Office will then review and approve FNIH-Ontario Region Work Plan that will include success AHHRI applicants
o FNIH-OR to receive notification of approval of Ontario Region Work Plan by early July
o Notification Letters to be sent to successful candidates hopefully by mid-July, 2008
