Alcohol is responsible for half of all deaths in Northern Saskatchewan, believes one indigeneous lawyer.
Harold Johnson, author of a new book called Firewater, takes a critical look at the impact alcohol has had on the people in the north.
“Alcohol is an aboriginal problem and we can’t rely on government to fix it,” he said.
He knows the book will upset people because he wants to combat negative stereotypes by confronting indigenous people directly.
