Wild Meat Donations – Sasknow.ca

13 December 2016

The FSIN Executive and the Prince Albert Grand Council are delivering traditional wild meat to shelters and a soup kitchen over the next few days.

Chief Bobby Cameron kicked off the week of donations by giving some packaged meat to the Prince Albert Food Bank yesterday (Mon). Cameron, who is an avid hunter, says he was taught by his father after killing an animal to give thanks, leave tobacco and share the killed animal with his people. He says sharing food for many Indigenous people is a way of life.

Today (Tues), Cameron will be delivering the wild meat to a shelter in North Battleford, before stopping at a shelter in Yorkton tomorrow (Wed) and a soup kitchen in Regina on Thursday.
