WINNIPEG – Manitoba Premier Brian Pallister says he won’t be intimidated into accepting a health funding agreement with the federal government.

Pallister says the fact that all other provinces have now signed on to deals is not going to convince him to bow to pressure.

Andrew MacKendrick, press secretary for federal Health Minister Jane Philpott, says Ottawa has made an historic 11 billion-dollar offer to provide better health care for all Canadians.

He says Manitobans would like to see the benefits to be had from an agreement.

Manitoba became the final holdout last week when the federal government signed bilateral health agreements with Quebec, Ontario and Alberta after months of heated negotiations.
