Gender-based violence manual includes local stories – LakelandToday.ca

Mannawanis Native Friendship Centre unveiled “Roots, Realities, and Reconciliation” at a day-long workshop in St. Paul on Jan. 27. The manual is the culmination of several years of work and $391,000 of grant money from Women and Gender Equality Canada.

A new training manual on recognizing, responding to, and preventing gender-based violence in Northeast Alberta was unveiled to a group of about 50 people at the Mannawanis Native Friendship Centre in St. Paul on Jan. 27.

According to Tanya Shaw, the executive director at the Mannawanis Native Friendship Centre in St. Paul, “Roots, Realities, and Reconciliation” has been in the works for about three years now.
