Over 43,000 stain removers recalled in Canada – CTV

January 25, 2026

Health Canada has announced a recall of more than 43,000 units of the Angry Orange Stain Removers across Canada, due to a microbial hazard that could cause a risk of serious infection.

“Recalled products can contain bacteria, including Pseudomonas aeruginosa, an environmental organism found widely in soil and water,” the notice says.

“The bacteria can enter the body if inhaled, through the eyes, or through a break in the skin.”

While people with healthy immune systems are not usually affected by the bacteria, the notice says those with weakened immune systems or external medical devices could face serious infections that may require medical treatment.

It is a joint recall with the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (U.S. CPSC) and Thrasio, LLC., and impacts two scents of the stain remover:

24oz Enzyme Citrus Stain Remover, Orange Twist, UPC 850039953002
24oz Enzyme Citrus Stain Remover, Fresh Clean, UPC 850039953033
